Parent Empowerment!
“I feel that all parents should take a parenting class. Before the class I was raising my stepdaughter how I was raised but I've learned so much that I didn't know before, it's really changed how I relate to her. I'm really appreciative.”
“I always thought that discipline happens as needed, but it really helps to have a plan. I really do find it very useful and beneficial.”
“I didn't fully understand that my child doesn't think the same way an adult does. What's common sense to me isn't to her. I'm better able to understand her and her thinking as a 5 year old.”
“I'm definitely a lot more patient with him and our interactions are less stressful. We use more mindfulness tools--as I've learned them in class I use them with him, which helps us to be able to prevent a lot of autism meltdowns. When I notice that he's beginning to get upset and can't self-regulate we use them.”
Since 2000, FNC has been providing parents with support and education on effective parenting strategies through Parent Empowerment! classes. Our Zoom-based and in-person parenting classes help Philly families build the skills to not only cope with challenges, but thrive!
